Architecture and Interior Design With An Attitude
Design Point of View provides a place to look at cutting edge interior design and architectural styles. We explore house types, accessories, fabrics and furnishings. In that sense, it is a point of view, a place to see and discover amazing things.
The information is also presented with a point-of-view, meaning an opinion that good design doesn’t just happen, and expensive doesn’t necessarily mean tasteful.
Our point of view embraces traditional, transitional and contemporary. We believe in architecture, interior design, and accesorizing. We seek counsel from the AIA, ASID, and from all the folks out there working like the devil to make their home something special.
We are not owned by an appliance company, carpet distributors, or a paint company. We are not design snobs, or obsessed with house size. We don’t accept product or dollars in exchange for editorial favors
We are homowners who have spent Saturday nights at Home Depot and Sunday afternoons at Lowe's. We’ve also been to the furniture market at High Point, and the Design Center downtown. We’ve lived in bungalows, contemporaries, four squares, and mid-century moderns. We’ve collected antiques and filled the car at Ikea.
We are writers, fans and critics - admitted media types who’s vocation and avocation is covering the world of architecture and design for print and broadcast media. We get to see behind the curtains, past the hype for a glimpse at what works and what’s real. And now, you can too.
All this access and exposure has given us a distinct and perseptive point of view which is presented on the following pages. Enjoy, contribute, interact, create, as you discover or finely hone your own attitudes about the world of architecture and design.
